Hi! Just a quick reminder that the CONSTRUCTION SITES: Contemporary Still-Life Photographs exhibition at the Lubeznik Center for the Arts in Michigan City, IN, opens tomorrow! It promises to be a great exhibition. The private view is on May 17th, 6PM til 8PM.

Construction Sites in The Times of Northwest Indiana

The Times of Northwest Indiana have written a short feature about the upcoming exhibitions being held at The Lubeznik Center for the Arts, including “Construction Sites.” The show opens at 6PM on Friday evening and all are welcome!

World Pinhole Day - April 28, 2013Here’s my entry to World Pinhole Day! It’s a bit weird - David Cameron being abducted by a UFO; just a bit of fun, but probably something that a few people would want to see! I took inspiration for the UFO from the film ‘Close Encounters of the Third Kind,’ whilst David Cameron was taken from an image of himself celebrating England winning a football match against Germany… As with most images of UFOs, aliens and abductions, the photographic detail is never great enough to be considered as reliable evidence of extra-terrestrial existence. So I think the pinhole medium really lends itself to recreating that want for a clearer image. ONE WORD BRIEF - Be.

A pretty interesting competition that’s worth entering! It asks artists to create a response to one word: Be. This response could take the form of a graphic, photograph or a moving image.

Closing Date: May 15, 2013 (one week left to enter!)

Here’s an image of my work set up at the OPEN SPACE: REALITY SUSPENDED exhibition, before it was burgled, postponed and then rescheduled…  I wasn’t able to use a lightbox for each image at the time, so instead I opted to print three 30x20inch prints and place them side-by-side. I thought the extra size of the prints would give the images more shock value in comparison to their smaller A4 acetate counterparts. When the exhibition was actually shown, I decided to use a different method of display, which I felt used the space more to it’s full potential (see earlier post).  ___

The FLEECE ART AUCTION is taking place on (THURSDAY 2ND OF MAY, 2013 between 4PM and 7PM) to raise money for the FLEECE SHOW.

The auction will be at THE ARTS BAR in THE ARTS UNIVERSITY BOURNEMOUTH.
